Wedding Locations

The Reef and Rainforest Coast is well known for the dual World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. During the months of the “Dry Season” (May – November), as the name suggests, there is little rain in the region making it the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding. Your Port Douglas Wedding Professional will be able to assist you in choosing the perfect spot for your wedding.

Tropical Beach Ceremony

Enjoy a beachside wedding on one of the beautiful beaches in the shire. Four Mile Beach Port Douglas, Oak Beach, Newell Beach are but a few of the superb locations to choose from!

Rainforest Ceremony

There are a selection of rainforest resorts that can offer accommodation, reception and a beautiful location for your ceremony all at the one place.

Rex Smeal Park

Rex Smeal Park, in the heart of Port Douglas is arguably one of the prettiest places for a wedding ceremony and reception. Facing north-west, the park has a border of magnificent coconut palms (de-nutted for safety!) with views of the Coral Sea and majestic Daintree rainforest beyond.

St. Mary’s By the Sea

St Mary’s By the Sea is the beautiful non-denominational wedding chapel located in the heart of Port Douglas. An historic church built in the 1880’s, the chapel has been fully restored and features a huge glass altar window which offers breathtaking views of the Coral Sea and rainforest clad mountains, stained glass windows, traditional wooden pews and a church bell which will be ringing on your wedding day.

Port Douglas Sugar Wharf

Port Douglas’ historical Sugar Wharf is a beautifully scenic location for both ceremony and reception. The wharf has both indoor and outdoor areas that can be utilized for uniquely themed weddings. As the wharf faces to the west, guests can be dazzled by the beauty of the setting sun behind the mountainous Daintree Rainforest.

Great Barrier Reef

Many visitors choose to marry on one of our many sailing craft or power vessels, either on board or at a beautiful tropical island. Alternatively you may choose to marry in Rex Smeal Park or at the beach before departing on a Great Barrier Reef cruise.

Tropical Island Ceremony

The ultimate indulgence… be transferred by helicopter or boat to your very own private coral cay and tie the knot in complete privacy!

Private Residence

There are hundreds of holiday homes available in Port Douglas and the surrounding beaches and rainforest areas are perfect for small, medium and large weddings.
